"Yes"

Yesterday I really "wanted" to paint. But it wasnt the right mood. When the planets are aligned (or something) and I'm in the right frame of calmness and openness, I can sit down and it flows out. It's pretty much just like that. If its
right it's easy. Maybe that's the way life is at times. But not all the time.
The blacksmith phrase "strike while the iron is hot" keeps running through my head. So if you got hot iron, strike it with all you got!

About the pic. I'm in a funny mood. :)

Third in the series. How to you paint some thing that would so easily lend itself to cliches. Hearts? No to over done.
So what to do. I painted the blue and pink next to each other. Added a little depth to the edges and then had the idea of a bright spot in the center of the universe that shown so bright it brought silence to the heavens because of the depth and width of it all.

I probably could have just used a heart. LOL

Sunset Proposal

Started with the idea of triangles.  And it morphed from there.

Art is like a fart.

Art is like a fart.  If you have to force it, it's probably crap.  Ive "painted" a lot in three days.  Yesterday i wanted to paint but i tossed 4 in a row.

So i cut paper and folded it for more books. I got a break in the paint.  I have to create but when it flows Ive got to do it.  When I try to make it happen its got no flow.

Meaning?  Strike while the iron is hot.

An old buddy loves baseball.  So this happened.

"Hope"

This is a follow up to "Shell".  This snapped into my mind as a complete image except for the little dash of red in the top right.  Luckily light is brighter than darkness.

"Shell"

After going through a really really tuff time, ie depression.  I am trying to find ways to show it in art and how it looks and feels.  You feel like screaming as in my other painting, but in this one I tried to capture that hollow, empty feeling, like you don't matter to anyone, anything or even to yourself.  Bad place to be.  But there is hope.  There is an end.

"Bacon"

This is for my cousin Mathew!  Enjoy.

"Swing View"

Many will recognize a place.  La Jolla Shores.  Swing set.  Ocean view. Awesome!  Still working with the primary colors as the base.  Next time I am there I will swing on the swings for a while.

What does depression fee like??

I may do a few of these to visualize depression.  Not supposed to be pretty.

Must create daily!

Had a couple of ideas last night but I actually slept.  I needed that.  Today I'll hand cut more paper, stitch another book and paint another painting.

Its a good day when you can make something.

Bold color

When ever I have painted I have leaned towards bold, vivid colors.
I want to do two from scratch paintings and listen to hardcore, BlackFlag, Clutch etc then do one of same item with Chicago and Air Supply to see what the differences expressed are.

Shades of Purple

My son is playing classical music in the same room.  I stuck with mostly shades of Purple.  Used a little yellow since it is the opposite of purple and some white.

Right now the geometric colors is what I am playing with.

This is La Jolla Shores Sunset.  One of the special beaches in my memory.  The trees and surf, the swing set, guard towers etc.  It is a very nice place to "be".

Painted while listening to Eric Hutchinson, Sara Barrilles and John Mayer.

This came to mind with the Golden Ratio.  RBY.  This one actually kept me up at night till I got it out so to speak.

"Door" By Dix

I had this idea of a door slightly ajar.  Just a bit of light breaking through.  I think in colors first.  Right now I think in blocks of colors.  I like the Golden ratio 1:1.618 so I am experimenting with sizes of color.

For this is painting I have been listening to:
Rage Against the Machine
Beastie Boys
Sound Garden
